Located in York, the York Army Museum covers the British Military history through the Yorkshire units from the 17th century to the present day. These include World War 1 and World War 2. Uniforms and the kit the soldiers used is on display, and this, together with videos of personal war journal accounts, give a wonderful insight into a day in the life of a soldier. There are even opportunities to try on modern military uniform too!

There are different exhibitions throughout the year too, so be sure to check their website for full details of what’s on.

York Army Museum are also able to offer corporate hospitality, and can cater for a party of up to 60 for seminars, talks, and workshops, and up to 30 for a formal, sit down event or host up to 100 people for cocktails and canapes. There are various rooms which can be used, including the Mess Table (centred within the fantastic setting of York Army Museum, surrounded by the unique and extensive collections), the Regimental Board Room and Lecture Space.

For special occasions, or simply to enhance your experience at York Army Museum, the Curator’s team can also organise rare and exciting object handling events.
